LG OLED TVs are now glare free

LG has obtained “discomfort glare-free certification” from global safety science company underwriters laboratories. The LG OLED TVs are now glare-free which means that you can watch online and TV content for long hours without feeling eye strain and fatigue.

The LG Company stated in the official press release that their OLED TV panels have been recognized as the first anti-glare display that emits no glare.

You must have noticed that when you look at your smartphone screen in dark or low light then you might not feel comfortable viewing or feel the strain on your eyes. So, in the LG OLED TV panel, this discomfort glare is reduced and allows you to watch the big screen for long hours.

What exactly is glare?

Glare means when the bright light can impact your ability to look comfortably or see at it and their many people who have low vision and require a bright environment to read or write or even watch content on the screen. In some cases, it also found that too much strain on the eyes due to bad lighting or glare can cause harm to your eyes.

We all like to binge on TV but after some time feels uncomfortable due to the constant glare and light emitted from the TV panel. Hence, LG has taken a good initiative which will definitely work as a milestone for other TV brands too.

LG OLED TV glare-free panels have 33 million self-emissive pixels in an 8K screen which means that the total brightness is comparatively low to the LCD and QLED panels and this helps in eliminating the glare which causes eye strain and fatigue. In this case, you will not only get the glare-free screen but would also be able to see a clearer and sharper picture with an infinite contrast ratio which was not possible earlier.

So far most of the TV brands have been working hard to make the TV screen bigger and bigger along with making them smart as much as possible. However, most of them are not focused on providing comfortable viewing. This glare-free certification by LG OLED panel is certainly an advancement in this field.

There are other TV brands that receive certifications like “no photobiological LED hazard” and “eye safety certification” but glare-free TV viewing is exceptionally good which will provide a soothing effect to the eyes.

There were some brands that recognized the effects of blue light and even obtained certificates related to eye-safe display standards by lowering the blue light emission which is also a major cause of eye fatigue and tiredness.

However, there is nothing to worry about if you own other branded TVs like Samsung and TCL which still make LCD panels as you can also maintain a safe distance between you and the TV screen so that you can protect your eyes from continuous strain.
